Custom Fabricated Auger for Bulk Material Handling

For more than 18 years, Zimmerman Steel & Supply has been a respected leader in the manufacture of custom fabricated products including custom augers, such as the project highlighted here. This auger is used for bulk material handling, and is designed to move a variety of products, including asphalt, aggregate, and stone.

This product is composed of A572 Grade 50/ A500 tube steel, which delivers a Rockwell hardness of 50 to protect against the harsh environment in which it is used. Individual components were cut and welded into dimensions of 3.83" ID, an OD of 14", length of 117", with a pitch of 14", while maintaining a tolerance of ±0.125", highlighting our expertise in precision hard surface welding. All units are subject to continual vision inspection and measurement testing to ensure consistent quality. Because of our efficiency in the fabrication process, we are able to manufacture the auger in the equivalent amount of 120 linear feet per week and deliver individual products in 4 to 6 weeks.
