Zimmerman Steel and Supply Expands To Meet Customer Demand

Zimmerman Steel and Supply Company expanded its metal fabrication operations and production services through the purchase of an additional facility, just minutes from its original location. This expansion is in direct response to customer needs, increased demand, and growing specialized capabilities.

“The added space gives us the opportunity to expand our business and our scope. We now have the space to meet specific customer requests, increase our production, and even expand into new industries, such as solar energy,” said Founder and CEO Dave Zimmerman. “Not only can we accommodate larger projects, but we can also increase the quantity of projects, giving customers more opportunities, quicker turnaround, and options for quality and customized services to meet their specific needs.”

Prior to the purchase of the new facility, Zimmerman Steel and Supply performed all operations out of a 12,000 square foot facility. This original facility will still remain operational within the organization. The new location – which consists of two buildings – adds over 70,000 square feet to the company’s footprint.

“With our expanded capacity comes new opportunities. Not only will we be able to meet additional customer needs, but we will be able to utilize new technology, like the use of robots in our production side on projects like truck trailer components and highway systems,” said Chris Modd, Business Development for Zimmerman Steel.

The organization is strategically transitioning into the new location in phases. Currently, the space is being used for fabrication, and is being prepared to be more conducive for other types of assembly and welding. The final phase includes moving personnel offices. For now, office employees will remain in the original location.
